3d Tracking

April 24, 2014 - 1:15am #1

Hi,

I have used Vuforia SDK for one of my application runs on Android. I have worked on other SDKs also but I found Vuforia is the best. But Vuforia supports only 2d planner tracking. Is Vuforia in plan of 3d tracking? If yes till when can we expect the SDK for 3d tracking in the market? Just curious to know.

Thanks, Khalid

Thanks for clarifying. If you refer to 3D object / toy tracking and similar, there is no public info or news available at the moment.

However, the Vuforia team is definitely looking at this feature with due interest and consideration.

Should there be any news on this subject (at any time in the future), this would be announced in www.vuforia.com.

3d Tracking

3D Tracking means recognizing the 3D objects. They can be toys, buildings, etc. Right now the SDK is only able to recognize the image of any 3D object. Say, if  we take an image of "Eiffel Tower" and feed it to sdk then it recognize the image. But if we pose our live camera on "Eiffel Tower" in real, it does not recognise. If I summerize, the same existing functionality of sdk but it should recoginze the real objects with the images.

Sorry for late reply.

Thanks for your comments !

Could you clarify what kind of "3d tracking" you are interested in ? (e.g. tracking of a 3D object, like a toy or other 3d figure....  or maybe you refer to tracking using 3D cameras ? ..... others ?)
