Android App with Unity and Vuforia

My class has been working on building a virtual pet with augmented reality through Unity 3d. We have been able to build it successfully with one bug. When we run the animations in play mode in unity everything works fine, but when we build it onto an Android phone the pet seems to be repelled by the food when it is introduced instead of eating it like he is supposed to. This does not happen in play mode within Unity. Anyone have any ideas?
