Animated model possible?

August 2, 2012 - 10:42pm #1

Hi all,

Is that possible that I apply animation on my model? What I mean is my model will move as in not just turn around. Currently using 3DMax to generate some animation on my model but had no idea how to apply on augmented reality.

Sincerely

Jason

Animated model possible?

Hello,

Please see Unity3D.com for some tutorials on using Unity. Download the Vuforia extension and samples from this website. Here is a link to a post on rotating the augmentation https://ar.qualcomm.at/content/changing-color-teapot-during-rotation-virtual-button .

The concept for rotating the model in the Native SDK with Open GL is the same but implementation may be more complicated.

Thank you,

In my assignment, I need to do some simple animated model means, eg, a car move front and back. I using eclipse with native sdk.

And using 3dMax to render the animation on my model.

Not very sure on Unity Extension. Any tutorials?

Hello,

Animated 3D models are possible in both Native and Unity Vuforia based applications. Do you just want to rotate your model or are you looking to animate your model, (i.e. a person walking with legs moving)?

Are you using the Unity extension or Native SDK?

If you are new to OpenGL programming I would suggest looking into using the Unity extension. Importing and animating 3D models is much easier in Unity.

Thank you,

-Peter
