I download a sample Video Playback apk (https://developer.vuforia.com/resources/sample-apps/video-playback-sample-app) and install on Nexus5 with Android lollipop.
I found some problem when open camara- Camera on Video Playback is almost black screen- Default camera is fine
Then, I rebuit this app from source code (java with vuforia android sdk 3.0.9) and the I found this ploblem again.
How to fix this problem. What's the file in source code to fix.

The behaviour in 4.0 and 3.0 will be the same for this.

Thanks for your response and I am sorry for the misunderstanding. I upgraded the project to the new Vuforia and it works.

Hello, I add myselft to the list of Nexus 5 users with Lollipop 5, 5.01 and 5.1, with the dark camera issue.
I haven't tested it with previous Android versions, but the stock camera in rec mode, in same lighting conditions, is much more clear.

I am using Vuforia 5.0.5 and this is still present on Lollipop 5.1.1
The light is very dim on the camera regardless of the sample project am I using.

I just made my first test with vuforia and Unity , and I have the same issue .
I am using Nexus 5 , now on Android 6.0 and the latest Vuforia as of writing this post.

Same issue here, from android 5 to android 6.0 with my nexus 5 : Under dark conditions the camera image is almost black and can't recognize the image target.

I'm having this issue with my Nexus 6, Android 6 (portrait mode, Unity). In an average room it's too dark to track. Only in the brightest conditions is tracking possible.

me too, my nexus 5 with Android 6 the camera is too dark. When I use my Sansung Galaxy Note with Android 4.2, the camera is ok.

i am having same issue i tried image sample too but still so dark. there were no problem when i was using android 5 couple week ago. Right now i am using android 6 in my lg g3. My first problem was related to adroid version:

Same Problem here, Android 6 (23) = black camera. It seems that the manifest approach does not apply any more.I deleted all sdk above 22 and try to build, but no luck.

Yes they changed permission system in android 6.0 whenever an app try to do something that needs permission it asks to get permission in first launch. But dont know how can we get permission in manifest. i will have a look at it.
