Camera Playback lags when calling Android native dialogs

Hello guys,

we are using vuforia version 6.1.17 in combination with Unity 5.4.1f1 in one of our projects. Additionally, we're using the newest version of the Etcetera plugin in order to display native dialogs on Android and iOS. When calling the native dialog on android to show up multiple times successively, we observe camera image lagging (camera image is not rendered in realtime but with just a few frames per seconds after displaying native dialogs multiple times which of course leads to instable tracking behaviour). The animated 3d content still renders without performance issues, but only the camera playback has a very low framerate. When pausing the app by pressing the home button and switching back to it, the camera playback is rendered with a high framerate again. Did you already noticed such behaviour on your side and can you suggest a solution to this issue? This was tested on multiple android devices (included newer ones).

Thanks in advance,

Daniel

Hello,

Unity has marked this issue as fixed in Unity 5.6.0: https://issuetracker.unity3d.com/issues/android-inputtext-makes-webcam-update-texture-slow

Has anyone confirmed?

Thanks.
