Hello,
My name is Gordon, I am 24 years old, and I am very new to the developing process. I have a tiny bit of programming background as I took 1 semester of Java during my first semester in college (and did quite well); but this was back in 2006. I ended up grabbing my degree with an Assosiates in Applied Arts. I have a ton of great ideas to bring to the Android world and I know I can bring the graphical element to the table, but I really would like to be able to write solid code to support the artwork I can create.
I am not looking to make a lot of money (if any at all) I just want to get these ideas (both with Augmented Reality and without) out in app form so that others may enjoy what I have up in my head.
I am a quick learner and can teach myself just about anything with the right resources. With all that being said, I have never developed any sort of app for any device. I am very eager to learn.
So, I guess my main question is; Is there any good free resources out there to train me for this process? Is there a better community to present my questions to?
Thank you so much for your time,
Gordon~
Developing Apps for Android
Oh, I forgot to mention. I am not apposed to buying books that might be of great help either.
Thanks again.
Developing Apps for Android
Hi, as for a book, "The Busy Coder's Guide to Android Development" is said to be good read;

One thing you may also want to consider is programming with Unity 3D:

Vuforia has a specific extension intended for Unity 3D, which allows you to leverage its extraordinary power;

I have played in Unity before, but the licensing fees are a little much for me with where I am in life right now. I guess I'll just play around some more. I will definiteley pick up that book and head to the other forums. If anyone else has more resources I am open to hear them all.
