External image/video sources

I couldn't find any way to use external video or image source instead of the device camera.

I need to detect tags/glyphs from an external source, I can actually separate it in individual frames (Bitmaps) or access the stream url.

Is there a way to use any of these? (I prefer using the individual bitmap frame)
