I would like to use a custom font with my frame markers.
Is this possible and if so, how would I go about doing this?
Thanks in advance for any help
Actually, that is not how a forum works. If a questions is answered, it will not be deleted. The reason for this is that if someone else has the same question, he can find the answer in the forum. This prevents many people asking the same question and speeds up problem solving.
Likewise, if you figure out how to solve something, it is appreciated that you post your own solution to your problem as well, for the same reason as above. I saw that you did just that. Good job.
Thank you for the replies. I figured it out. I was assuming that it was referencing to a ttf file within the example or the system. I now know that its a 3d font. Problem solved. You can delete this thread. Thank you.
power7714, that has nothing to do with QCAR. The QCAR letters on the Frame Markers are just 3d objects which are provided as an example, and QCAR doesn't offer a 3d content creation system. It is just about image recognition and 3d object placement.
If you want to know how to create custom 3d letters, I recommend you go to a forum dedicated to creating 3d content. Maybe Blender (free) would be a good place to start.
If you want to know how to manipulate the 3d content (change position, rotation, scale, animation, etc.) while it is rendered, I recommend you go to the Unity3d forums. Using the Unity3d game engine is the easiest way to do this.
Like for the example frame marker, instead of the QCAR letters in their original font in 3d I would like to use a custom font or one of my choosing. If I can change how that 3d font looks I would like to know how. Thank you
Do you mean a custom font in the printed marker or rendered text (2D or 3D)? You can put anything you want inside the marker for printing. Start with the image files inside the QCAR/assets/frame-markers-transparent.zip file, and scale them up using nearest neighbor resampling.
