How to change Mobile Device Text Regconition to portrait mode

Hi Guys

 

I googled this for hours, but have not found anything on this so I'm posting here.

I'm currently trying to test a text recognition app for Android and ISO, if this works I will probably develop my AR/VR Apps with Vuforia unity addon. 

I followed Vuforia tutorials to get my app's text recognition working on Android in landscape mode.  However when I turn the phone around on portrait mode no words will get recognize.  Do I need to call a special function during runtime to switch text recognition to portrait mode?   I assume object and picture recognition might not have this problem?  How can I solve this for text recognition.
