ImageTarget Sample Animation

 i have successfully put my own 3D Model on my own Target.

But now i want to animate my 3D Model.

How can i do this?

Is there any Tutorial?

I work with Blender.

Hi Alessandro,

thank you for infos. I will try it first with Blender and creat animations programmatically.

If i found more Informations on how to get it work, i will send you Infos.

Hi, if you want to create an animation in Blender and then export it, you would probably need to export it in some format that supports animations, such as FBX (which is the most popular and commonly used for this, to my knowledge).

The problem with this approach is that you will the need to implement your own FBX importer in C++ in order to parse the file and render the result in OpenGL;

this would be a very large and demanding programming effort.

So, I would not recommend to go that way;

a much better solution would be to use Unity 3D (and the Vuforia extension for Unity), so that you could load an FBX model (animated or not) and use it out-of-the-box;


you could try to integrate a third party 3D engine for Android, which supports FBX or other formats for animations.

A third possibility, of course, would be to create your animations programmatically (i.e. export a static model from Blender in OBJ) and then use it and animate it in your application code.

We don't have specific tutorials available for animations.
