Large targets not being recognized further then 1 meter away

Hello All

I'm using the Books example as a base for an app I'm creating but have raninto an issue with recognition distance. Even though my images are 5 star and are about 1.5x2.5 feet (they're floor mats with different images on them), the best recognition distance I can achieve so far is about 1 meter away. What can I do to increase the recognition distance? I've read that 3-5 metrers is easily achieved by many. I've also read something about Far Distance Plane, but think that it only refers when using Vuforia with Unity and actually not sure where I would adjust it. Please Help
