Load 3D objects form web

May 4, 2018 - 4:03am #1

Dear android devs,

My native android application needs to load 3D objects from a webservice. Is there a way to do so? Looking at the sample code I see that every 3D object has a java class that defines it. Is this the only way to load a 3D object?

Bonus: if loading a 3D object from a webservice in a native android app is possible, would be possible to load 3D objects with animations too?

Thanks.

Hello YoomeeTechnologies,

All of this is certainly possible, but is not a service or API that the Vuforia SDK provides. You'll either need to find another library that handles this or write your own solution.

The java class that defines the 3D object is only an example and not a requirement. You can load whatever 3D model file type you prefer to work with.

Thanks,

Vuforia Support
