Make Camera view only occupy a fraction of screen size

May 27, 2014 - 8:27pm #1

Hi,

I'm trying to make an app that uses Vuforia to track targets and the motion of these targets is to be used to control motion of some other on-screen characters. So, is it possible to make the Cameraview only occupy some space at one corner of the screen? So that the rest of screen space can be dedicated to run some animation (that is controlled by the target motion) ?

Thanks.

For this you should check the Background Texture Access sample. You can bind the background texture and get the id. Then you will be able to use it the same way you would use a texture with a shader.

What you need is:

int vbVideoTextureUnit = 0;

Renderer.getInstance().bindVideoBackground(vbVideoTextureUnit);

Sorry, I should've been more clear earlier.

I'm not using the Unity plugin as of yet. Planning to move to that in the near future, but for now using Opengl only. (Andengine actually).

I am editing the ImageTargetsNative sample app.

In this case, how can I solve my problem?

You can modify the Viewport Rect values on the Camera component in the Inspector panel. See here for more info:
