Multiple Textures...Please help!!!

May 26, 2012 - 3:44am #1

hi guys,
Right now i have an obj file from the below link

http://thefree3dmodels.com/stuff/food/apples/22-1-0-1550

I have converted into a header file using the obj2opengl pearl script but that obj file uses two texture images....one for the apple and another for the bowl. How can i render both these textures on the 3d model. I have searched a lot for a solution for this. Any help would be appreciated a lot.

Thanks,
Tarun

Ok, I finally found useful tutorial videos in the topic. These are the relevant ones:

First, you create the UVW map of the object, and export it as .jpg to use this in an image editor like Photoshop. This is THE image (so only one texture) that contains all texture information you have of your objects.

Hope it helps you or someone!

Hi Tarun!

Im not sure about the answer, and also trying to do the same thing in the last hours without avail.. But I guess there is a way to do this!

I am modelling in 3ds max and creating multiple objects in my scene (e.g. sphere, box..). Exporting it as a .obj file and convert it to .h with 'obj2opengl' works great, but when I make the objects (sphere, box) different textures 3ds max generates as many texture files (.jpg) as many objects i have. Although Im sure there is a way to generate only one .jpg with the textures of all objects. If I am right it is easy to solve your problem with the apples and bowl as well. If I will figure it out, I will send the solution, but if someone know a better way, or how to do what I am about to do, any help would be appreciated!

Cheers,
Mate
