Problem opening camera with Samples Project

May 15, 2017 - 10:15am #1

I downloaded Samples Projects (Book's) and the Native SDK for Android.

The problem that occurs is as follows, as soon as I do the app build on my cell phone, clicking the "Start" button closes the application with no error. How to fix this problem, so that the app opens the camera of the cell with the configurations of "Books Samples Project" already pre-configured?

The steps I took were as follows:

1) Copy and put the files that are inside the "Build" folder of the Native Android SDK file into the folder of my project which in this case is "Books Samples".

2) In android Studio with the "Books Samples" open:

- Settings

- Build & Gadle

- Use gadle 2.14.all that I downloaded to the gadle repository site.

3) After the second step I imported Vuforia.jar:

- Project Settings

- I clicked on the "app" folder

- I accessed the Dependencies tab

- Imported Vuforia.jar

- Again in the Dependencies tab I imported a Module that would be the folder Vuforia

Try another device. Think yours is not supported. I had the same issue with my Smartphone with Cyanogenmod on it and my Tablet (dragontouch with stock rom). On supported Phones it will work.

Yes, I followed all these steps and managed to build. When I click on the option within the application such as "Cloud Recognition" it opens another screen giving information of what is "Cloud Recognition" and contains a "Start" button to start the test with the camera. As soon as I click the "Start" button it tries to open another screen, but back out of nowhere the application splash screen. The Samples Project is standard I did not move in any code! Going back ... In this tutorial you have to "import" a .jar called "QAR" but it does not contain this "QAR" here, it contains the "Vuforia.jar".

Did you follow the steps in the following article? https://library.vuforia.com/articles/Solution/Getting-Started-with-Vuforia-for-Android-Development

If you're just trying to run the sample in your environment, this straightforward approach is recommended.
