Recognize graph (Android)

Hi I am new in AR and Vuforia, and I need to recognize any discrete graph painted e.g on paper. I am a little confused if it can be done with vuforia, if it's possible can you, please, help me with links how to start. Though I run and tried to investigate code of sample applications, read your articles about Image Targets and cloud/device recognition I can't figure it out.
