Rendering .fbx/.dae file format

August 9, 2017 - 11:06am #1

Does vuforia android sdk support rendering .dae/.fbx 3D model from the server at runtime to render.. ?

If I am not wrong current sample 3D tea pot object is a compile time java class (MeshObject)

I tried to use the vuforia unity sample to render .dae/.fbx 3D model from the asset folders.

As vuforia uses unity to render the objects is it possible to achieve this via android SDK ?

Hello Amjed,

The Android SDK sample uses the teapot java class to feed model data into OpenGL. You can see how this is done in ImageTargetRenderer.java's renderFrame function. You can use OpenGL to render your 3D model files in its place.

Thanks,
