Strange display on Android first run

September 16, 2015 - 12:06am #1

As it seems I am unable to post on the Unity Extention forum and there is a problem with the enitre forum workings I will try posing here!!

Regarding this problem Qualcomm you may like to know that this issue is cause when displaying a Unity Canvas with images and buttons.

I removed disabled them in my app and the strange display no longer appears.

So this is either a Vuforia issue or a Unity issue, but as this happens on Unity version from 5.1.2f1 all the way to 5.1.3p3 I think it may be Vuforia?

PS would be nice if someone from Vuforia would give an update on when the forums will be fixed?

The VideoPlayback 5.0.5 sample for Unity is available here:

Thanks for getting the forum issue resolved ;-)

Re the canvas issue I am using the VideoPlayback-4-2-3.unitypackage as don't believe this has been updated with the Vuforia 5.0 package?

The issue with posting to the Unity forum should now be resolved.

In regards to Canvas and UI elements, I am not experiencing any issues adding these elements to the ImageTargets 5.0.5 project and running them on an Android 4.4.4 device. I'm using Unity 5.1.3p2. If you want to provide step-by-step instructions to reproduce the effect using the ImageTargets 5.0.5 sample app, we can try as well.

Hi, have sent you PM, but no there is no post reply or reply button in the Unity Extension forum.

Regarding this issue of weird image I have located the exact problem, but do not know why it only affects Android and only on very first run on fresh app start?

I have a UI Panel as a container for my controls with a transparent background.  The panel comes with and Image script attached.  I do not use an image in the panel so I removed that component and the starnge issue is resolved.

I do not know if that is a Unity problem or a glitch with Vuforia but as the samples do not make use of Canvas and UI elements not sure you are aware of it?

Thanks

  • Is there a "reply" button in the post itself?
  • Is there a "Post Reply" button at the bottom of the page?
