Use my own graphics engine with Vuforia?

February 28, 2012 - 5:46am #1

So, before I decide to dig deep into the engine, I need to know in advance. I plan on using the free opengl-engine LibGDX for my AR-project, and so, I need to know: Will I be able to? Are the Vuforiaengine and its data somehow tied to vuforias own rendering system, or will I be able to incorporate Vuforia into a seperate opengl-engine with no technical limitations?

Thanks!

You should be able to integrate Vuforia with OpenGL ES engines. This will be easiest if the engine allows you to set the projection matrix directly. Then you can pull the projection matrix and modelview matrices from the Vuforia sample code and use them directly.

You'll still need to incorporate all of the Vuforia startup logic from the samples.
