What's Possible?

I'm starting to use the QCAR SDK and I was wondering what is possible with it without going into Unity3D. I'm pretty well acquainted with Android, just wondering what I can do with this new SDK. Such as 3D animations, from the simple like spinning a 3D model around to motion animations. Overlaying videos or .gifs using image targets and displaying regular pictures over the image target. I'd like to do as much of these as I can with out branching into Unity3D. Thanks to any answers, or links to answers.

The QCAR samples will take you as far as rendering basic 3D content on top of trackables over a live camera image. It really just hooks you up to OpenGL ES, which you can use to accomplish all the things you mentioned. We do not provide a rendering library on top of OpenGL ES, so you'll need to bring your own model importer / animator / math libraries etc. We also currently do not provide a means of rendering 3D video on top of a trackable, but again this is something you could write yourself.

The simplest of your requests is rendering a texture on top of a trackable, this has been answered before:
