Area target support devices

September 8, 2020 - 6:01pm #1

Doesn't Samsung Galaxy S20+/S20+ 5G Snapdragon and Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra/S20 Ultra 5G Snapdragon support the area target?

Are these devices planning to support the area target?

If you plan to apply, when will vuforia apply?

thanks.

Hi,

Currently with 9.4 we released the Vuforia Area Target Creator App that leverages the Lidar scanner from the latest Ipad Pro.

More info here: https://developer.vuforia.com/

Unfortunately I don't have the insight on what new 3D scanners we are planning to support but what can I do is inform Product Management that Navvis is requested by you, the community.

Thank you.

Hello,

Thank you for this great update of support of area targets. You said in your video "how to create area targets" that you were planning to develop other supported 3D scanners. Would you happen to plan to integrate the Navvis M6?

Thank you for your answer

Hi,

Under https://library.vuforia.com/content/vuforia-library/en/features/environments/area-targets.html we have the specification needed for what devices are supported:

"Supported Platforms

The Area Target Generator (ATG) is supported on Windows and macOS .

Consult the table on the Supported Versions for more details. You can retrieve the ATG from the Vuforia Developer Platform.

ARKit and ARCore supported mobile devices and the HoloLens devices are eligible for Area Targets. See here for a list of supported devices."

List to supported devices: https://library.vuforia.com/content/vuforia-library/en/platform-support/vuforia-engine-recommended-devices.html

Yes, we do support all 3 models for Area Targets.

Thank you.
