Cannot view area targets in Unity

In response to this post (https://developer.vuforia.com/forum/area-targets/known-issue-974-area-targets-unity), I have downgraded my Vuforia Engine in Unity to 9.6.3.

I still cannot get my area targets to be loaded in Unity. Here are the steps I have taken:

  1. Install and configure Vuforia 9.6.3 in Unity (including adding license key)
  2. Add Area Target and AR Camera game objects to test scene in Unity
  3. Generate area targets on iPad Pro
  4. Copy area target data (including .unitypackage) to desktop
  5. Import .unitypackage into project

After following these steps, I can see that the data has imported, and I can select my area target from the dropdown in the AreaTargetBehaviour component. However, after doing this, no meshes are created in the scene and I see the following warning:

No gltf or glb found for target MyAreaTarget

UnityEngine.Debug:LogWarningFormat(String, Object[])

Vuforia.EditorClasses.CADModelExtractor:CreateAreaTargetPrefabs()

Vuforia.EditorClasses.CADModelExtractor:CreateAreaTargetPreviewPrefab()

Vuforia.EditorClasses.ModelExtractionOfAreaTargetsTask:Execute()

Vuforia.EditorClasses.<>c:<OnPostprocessAllAssets>b__1_0(VuforiaLifeCycleTask)

System.Collections.Generic.List`1:ForEach(Action`1)

Vuforia.EditorClasses.AssetPostProcessTaskRunner:OnPostprocessAllAssets(String[], String[], String[], String[])

UnityEditor.EditorApplication:Internal_CallGlobalEventHandler()

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Jankrap,

If the area targets where created prior to 9.7 and you are using 9.7 please follow the steps mentioned here: https://library.vuforia.com/articles/Solution/How-To-Migrate-a-Unity-Project.html#migration9-7

If not, please confirm the below:

1. Vuforia Engine/Unity version?

2. How where the Area Targets generated? via ATG?via Ipad?

3. Device used to scan?

Cannot view area targets in Unity

Hey!

Were having the exact same problem at the office, this is affecting all projects and were also getting errors in some projects saying that GLTFmodelExtractor has an null exeption...

I figured that altough we cannot see the models in unity at all, and have no occlusion and collider mehses, when we build and deploy the app 

recognition and tracking DID work when we tried it in our office...

Anyway, if we manage to find a workaround i'll post it here, but help from Vuforia would be greatly appreciated..
