Hi all - Just wanted to update this thread and let you know that as of Vuforia 9.4, which came out last month, we now support Area Targets on the iPad Pro with LiDAR!

We also released the Area Target Creator App, which lets you generate and test an Area Target right on the iPad: https://library.vuforia.com/content/vuforia-library/en/features/environments/area-targets/creator-app.html

For this to become popular you guys need to enable something like iPad Pro, I could go get one today and start developing instead I have to go spend 3.5+k to get even started. It is really cool and useful feature with huge potential to grow enabling easier access.
