VisualSearch sample Scene not working properly on iPad

October 28, 2012 - 8:40am #1

I've deployed the VisualSearch sample on an iPad (using the provided client access/secret keys) and tried to test it.

I got the scanline, the feature-points and the UI to draw and react properly however I couldn't get the app to recognize the target.

(Also, sometimes I got a big box that had "REQUESTING" written inside it appear for a second or so but nothing happened)

I was wondering if this is the expected behavior or if the keys supplied defaultly are supposed to point to a database which contains the default target.

(Trying to use my own database isn't possible yet as I'm having trouble connecting to the TMS via the WS API)

NOTE: I have made sure that internet access is available for the ipad for the duration of the testing.

And and all help will be much appreciated,
Nathan

Yes you'll need to provision your own targets in order to have them recognized. The sample works w/ a set of book cover images that should either be in your assets folder, if you're using the native SDKs, or in Editor/QCAR/ForPrint if you're using the Unity sample.

Hi Nathan

This behaviour is expected - I think you need your own database, but I will check and get back to you.
