I am making an APP that have a feature to upload the image target ;

is it possible to check the quality of image target (e.g Similarity and Feature Points) at my Unity Client first before submit to server?

if yes, which API (in Unity SDK) do this job?

Hey there,

This is totally possible!

You can retrieve a target record and in the response you get the tracking_rating field which returns an int (0-5) based on the rating.

Please refer to the documentation: https://library.vuforia.com/cloud-recognition/how-use-vuforia-web-services-api

Hope that helps!

Hi I think the ImageTargetBuilder API is deprecated now. Is there a new way to check image target quality at run time, for an image the user uploads from their phone?

Hello,

Unfortunately, the VWS APIs will only return a 'tracking_rating' after the image has been uploaded and process by our Cloud Reco service:

You *may* be able to use ImageTargetBuilder API to get a rough estimation of the tracking quality, but keep in mind that this will return values for the entire camera frame. It's a long-shot and the the only thing I can think of at this time.

Thanks,
