Cloud Recognition - offline

October 20, 2017 - 1:26am #4

Hi

I have already a backend system for uploading targets for use in cloud recognition.

But now I want this to work offline.

Is there any possibility of making this work offline.

Like convert this cloud database to a device database or else

create a new .dat and .xml file from the existing cloud database and then download it separately to the device database.

The point is want to make this cloud recognition work offline. I can make requests to download the cue images and the target images.

Any help on this please.

Hello smvish,

Unfortunately you cannot convert a Cloud Database into a Device Database. You could potentially accomplish what you are trying to do in your post by hosting Device Databases on your own server and use your own CMS to download them into your app so that you can use them offline.

Ok

Thanks for the reply.

I can do this. But is there any way where we can automate the process of creating the device database.

We will updating the backend cloud database using vuforia web service api. But whenever there is change, I just want to create the corresponding device database which I can download later to the device using our own CMS>

Can you please help in this aspect.

There is unfortunately no means to automate the creation of a device database, you'll need to create these through the developer portal.
