We are in the process og designing an online CMS for AR content for customers. We are looking into which AR library to utilize and we have so far been recommended to use Vuforia. However we have possibly stumbled upon a limitation in which we are not sure on how to overcome.
Our requirement is that multiple customers can use our CMS system, which means that the amount of images that got to be tracked can be (infinitely) big. Therefore tracked images have to be distributed into multiple databases to ensure proper performance. However, from what we can find on Vuforia there is no way to generate these databases except for navigating manually through the Target Manager. This will require us to manually setup one or more databases for each customer, a workflow we would like to avoid.
So based on our situation, we have the following questions:
- Is it possible to circumvent the Target Manager and do the pre-processing somewhere else so we are not dependent on the cloud solution?
- Is there a way to create a database on the Target Manager through an API?
- Are there other methods to overcome this problem?

It is correct that you cannot create Cloud Reco databases via API. This is a known product limitation that is in-place as users must choose an appropriate license for their application.
