We are looking to use Vuforia for label recognition and I have two questions after having played with the Android SDK and recognition:
1) In general is Vuforia considered to be appropriate for label recognition? It does seem very AR/3D object/live scanning oriented. If we had a database of 1M product labels, will it function well for differentiating them?
2) Is there some way of performing a cloud recognition on a static image? We don't really want to do the "live scanning" like is shown in the sample code. We want the user to take a single picture of the label and then request it be recognized. Is that possible somehow?
Thank you!
Vuforia has been used for label recognition. It has less to do with the context (i.e. label), than with the target having good features for Vuforia to recognize.

User-Defined Targets (UDT) allow user to choose a target, but it will be arbitrary and not checked against a Device DB or Cloud DB target.
