newbie : target images in own server

March 23, 2014 - 8:36am #1

Hello ,

I am just evaluating Vuforia and I found  this , about "Cloud Recognition Server" , very interesting to me :

>>Use the Vuforia Web Service RESTful APIs to integrate with an existing content management system and to dynamically update your image targets without updating the app.

my question is : is it possible to use  an own server for that ?

thanks

No, Cloud Recognition relies on its own server backend, and the VWS RESTful API allows you to interact with such backend.

Nevertheless, you can associate a Metadata to each Image Targets; a Metadata could then for example contain a string which is just the URL of another server (your own server for instance), from which you could download your custom data.

See also this interesting articles that have a lot of additional details on Cloud Reco and Metadata:

I hope this answers your question.
