Ruby Gem for web services api

September 17, 2013 - 1:33am #1

Hi.

I have written a Ruby gem implementing most of the webservices api calls for the cloud database. It's a kind of a conversion from the already existing java/php code.

It partly works but is not finished yet; if you are interested it's here: https://github.com/nkokkos/vws

Thanx.

Nice. I guess this will be appreciated by many developers.

I have finished writing the ruby gem to interact with Vuforia Web Services API for target management . I have not added application_metadata field into its logic; that I will do in the future if I have the time.

If you like to use it, please report any problems that may arise. Thanks!

The gem can be found here:

and it's source code it here: https://github.com/nkokkos/vws

Changing a target status can take some time, which usually can be in the order of some minutes (sometimes it can a bit more, for instance 10 - 20 minutes);

this is the normal system behaviour; and it is also what should normally happen when using the Target Manager (as it also relies on the VWS API);

Hi,

everytime I try to update a target through the api, say I want to change the active flag from true to false, the change becomes active after a really long time.

The same happens if i want to delete an inctive target through the api.

But if I use the web interface of Target Manager that you provide, the change  is instant.

I guest you use some soft of queuing when api requests come in, but it seems these requests take a lot of time to propagate.

Is there a way for this problem to be resolved or is it just me having the problem?
