Hi !

Please

I have a problem with Vuforia samples.

I am finishing the install party. When i launch the Vuforia samples my camera doesn't work. I have camera warning.

I have to restart the device for camera working.

I don't know were is the problem. Someone can help me please.

Hi, the problem should have been solved.

Could you verify by:

- unsintalling your Vuforia app from your device

- resintalling and running it again ?  (note: Make sure to have internet connection ON)

Quick update:

we have been able to reproduce the issue on that specific device model (GT-i8262), so this confirms it is device specific issue;

we are now investigating the cause of the issue, I will report back when I have some more details.

As I said in my previous post, I have brought the information you provided to the attention of our engineering team, so that they can try to reproduce the issue on that specific device model.

Thank you for your help. This device is new one that i buy just to make an AR .

Then theire is no app on the device which use camera. The camera is using for the photo app in the device.

This problem is not resolve. There is any body to help me?

OK. Thanks for the detailed descrition, which I have brought to our engineers. 

One thing that this issue seems to suggest, though, is that there may be some other process running on your device and holding the Camera, which might interfere with Vuforia when initializing and using the Camera...   so, perhaps, when rebooting the device, occasionally this second camera process may be not running, thus allowing Vuforia to run properly.   

This is just an hypothesis, but worth checking on your side if there are other apps that may be using the Camera (and not releasing it  when they are paused)...

Hi AlessandroB

When i restart sometime the sample works sometime it  dont works.

I have to re-start and re-launch the sample. I get the progress bar running and the camera is frozen.

On 10 times to launch the sample perhaps the camera works 1 time. After 10 timesre-starting the device  and 10 times re-running the sample.

Thanks. One last question:

what happens after you restart the device and re-launch the samples ? 

dos it work on nthe first run and then it does not work anymore on subsequent runs ?

I use Vuforia SDK for Android.

Thanks. Are you using the Vuforia Java SDK ? or vuforia in Unity ?

Hi thanks for your interest.

I am using Android  the vuforia samples whitout native C++ code VuforiaSamples 2.8.8

The device model number ist : GT-18262

The Android Version ist : 4.1.2

The exact message of the "camera warning"  ist:  "Warning : Failed camera"

I use Vuforia 2.8.7

Hi, could you add more details, such as:

- are you usign Unity or Android native ?

- what is the exact device model number ? (you can find this info in the device settings)

- what Android version is your device running ?

- what is the exact message of the "camera warning" ?

- what version of Vuforia are you using ?
