Unable to create a Target via Postman

July 29, 2019 - 8:13am #1

Hello I have never worked with an API and only know basic concepts.

I'm having big complications with creating a target from postman (that after doing that would do it in unity).

These are my headers

https://gyazo.com/52db8449b78652c346fe5ea98ce1aad5

Host is: vws.vuforia.com

Date is: Mon, 29 Jul 2019 14:42:00 GMT

Content-Type is: application/json

Authorization: VWS fb928fce626d3ee684b8fc50e14cbebef1f2cf2b:YTdmMDA3NWM1MzQ0NDFmOTcxY2M2MDYyY2FhOGIwOWRlYzUwZTU1ZAo=

The first part is the access key and the second one was made using these two vuforia support articles:

https://library.vuforia.com/content/vuforia-library/en/articles/Solution/How-To-Use-the-Vuforia-Web-Services-API.html

https://library.vuforia.com/content/vuforia-library/en/articles/Training/Using-the-VWS-API.html

From what I could get the second part needs to be the signature:

This is the signature:

"POST

b4912f001cddba0a3de0895b7e9db298

application/json

Mon, 29 Jul 2019 14:42:00 GMT

https://vws.vuforia.com/targets"

the second line being my JSON string turned into an MD5 Hash.

Then the signature needs to be converted from HMAC-SHA1 (using the Secret Key).

Then take that and covert it to Base64 and add it to the authorization.

After all that I have the JSON (without any encryption inside the body in postman).

I'm always getting a "result_code": "AuthenticationFailure".

Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?
