Re: The analyser to create AR trackables open?
Re: The analyser to create AR trackables open?
From what I understand, trackables must be made ahead of time and embedded into the application at compile time so doing something like placing 3D objects on a real person wouldn't really work (unless you placed trackables on the person).
As for the trackable creation program... while I could see them making a standalone non-web version available in the future, there's no guarantee, or even any reason that it would have to be open source. What kinds of things would you like to be able to change?

Re: The analyser to create AR trackables open?
Hey,
I also think having the AR Trackable creation code as a standalone application would be beneficial.
If for no other reason than it's a major possible failure/weak point, i.e the qualcomm site/service goes down due to high demand for using this great API ;)
Just in terms of having an external dependency in order to complete your app.
I think the it being Open, freely available and free to distribute but not necessarily Open Source would also be a must.
My two cents,
Lee

i would also really like to have the possibility to create trackables in a standalone application.
could one of the responsible persons please give us feedback about possible plans on this request? it would be great to hear if we can expect something in the near future.
or make an online analyser service! available through API.
