Can I create a rectangle frame marker?

September 8, 2012 - 1:03am #1

Can I create a rectangle frame marker instead of square?

My usecase is that some landscape image surround with frame marker borders, user hover the image, the image show a video, something similar to the videoplayback sample but with rectangle frame marker

Thanks

I just had a simple test in android and would like to share.

I stretched a frame-marked image horizontally by 3%, i.e. 103×100, it wasn't recognized.

It worked only upto 2%.

Plus, the MarkerTracker failed with an image skewed (by MSPaint) by 2°; the one with 1° worked.

It is likely that the Unity editor will enforce the square aspect of any frame marker.

I think the way to try this is simply to create the target in a drawing / photo app and just see if it is recognised.  If so, you should not need to change anything in Unity.

Can I create a rectangle frame marker?

Just wondering if there was any resolution to this question as I have a similar question.

Basically, we want to put a frame border around rectangular objects like our business cards and some photographs but unsure if it can be done.

On this, How do I change the aspect ratio of the marker in Unity?
When I scale something in Unity, every time it runs, it shrinks the marker to a uniformed size.
So the marker properties need to be modified but I'm not sure where to do this.

Thanks

I'd be interested to know as well, though I expect that it's not going to work. FMs are assumed to be square.

Hi Billy,

I'm not sure, but I guess you could easily try changing the aspect ratio of the marker and see what happens...

This should work on screen as well so you would not have to print anything out.
