Creating Image Targets from Device's Gallery and Creating them in Runtime

March 3, 2021 - 12:29pm #1

My app is able to access the device's gallery but is there a way to somehow save the image to the streamingassets/Vuforia folder or redirect the filepath to look at the original filepath of the image?

Creating Image Targets from Device's Gallery and Creating them in Runtime

Hi,

We go over how to create Image Targets on Runtime in following article: https://library.vuforia.com/articles/Solution/how-to-create-and-load-targets-in-unity.html

In this article we have a codesnippet: How to create Instant Image Targets at Runtime from a file or Texture2D Objects

I believe by changing the StorageType from  STORAGE_APPRESOURCE to STORAGE_ABSOLUTE sthe filepath will be redirected to the original. More info on the storagetype here: https://library.vuforia.com/sites/default/files/references/unity/classVuforia_1_1VuforiaUnity.html#a6c29de45529a1faaf6cf960d318acb1a

Coming back to your question, I'm not clear why it is needed to save the file from the gallery to the streamingassets/vuforia folder or redirect?

Thank you.
