Hello,
We have a customer who wants to commercially print a unique target (image, ?) on their product, which once detected would trigger functionality in their mobile app. The customer prefers not to use QR Codes or Bar Codes, but they would potentially need hundreds of thousands of unique images. Does anyone have any ideas on what type of images could be used?
Also, their first idea was to implement user generated images with the target being a person's signature. We are assuming that the technology is not there yet to be able to use a person's signature (diffent wirting instruments, stoke widths, etc) - are we wrong about this assumption?
Any insights would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Customer Requirements Question
This is a challenging case, and frankly may be better suited to an encoding scheme like QR. You could theoretically design an image that is generated computationally to guarantee uniqueness and encode an ID, but I'm not aware of any available solutions for generating such images.
Customer Requirements Question
Although the Frame Markers give us a more modern look, the 512 max unique values is a limitation. Unless we could devise a two step process as mentioned above. We'll have to discuss the options with our customer. Thanks again.
Customer Requirements Question
Some devs have employed multiple frame markers to extend the range of possible values. Feel free to PM me if you need feedback on details of this project that you don't want to make public.

Good to know - will be back in touch.
