Detecting non-square trackables

January 9, 2013 - 9:14am #1

Hi all,

I'm wondering wether it is possible to feed non-square trackables into vuforia. For example I have an L-shaped object I'd like to track. Is it possible to create an image that has transparent areas which indicate that this area should not be used for recognition? What I'd like to avoid is creating a trackable from the biggest possible square somehwere inside the image.

I hope my question makes sense. If not, let me know. I'll add an example image.

Thank you!

David

Hi David, have you considered

Hi David, have you considered using Multi Targets ?

Multi Targets allow you to build general combinations of "standard" ImageTargets (i.e. you could put 3 Image Targets next to each other so to form an L-shape, and combine them into a Multi target ).

You can read here for more details:

https://developer.vuforia.com/resources/dev-guide/multi-targets

I hope this helps.
