FrameMarkers or ImageTargets

April 18, 2012 - 3:23am #1

Hi,

A question I am sure has come up before but to which I am unable to find an answer to in the forum.

Is it possible to say in general what gives best tracking performance - imagetargets or framemarkers?

(Naturally assuming that the imagetarget has been selected and created carefully)

Image targets will give you more robust tracking performance. They are more resilient to occlusion, fast camera movements, steep tracking angles, etc.

Frame markers are lighter-weight, however. You can include all 512 frame markers in a single app without much overhead, and it's easier to track multiple markers simultaneously.
