Problem with custom trackables

May 31, 2011 - 4:21am #1

I can download my custom trackables from the website. Then I have a package with my tracker in. I can load this package in my scene and the config and qcar-resources will be overwritten.
Then I select my image target and I select my custom tracker there.

Normally this would be all? or am I forgetting something?

When I build then it can't find the tracker. Even when I build with the "chips" trackable which worked before I loaded the custom package.

Can smone help me?

Thank

Currently a QCAR application can only have a single set of config.xml and qcar-resources.dat files. You cannot switch target sets at runtime. Or are you trying to do something different here?

Eclipse Problem in creating Trackables

June 21, 2011 - 2:24pm #5

when I try to create a new custom trackable in Eclipse I have the issue that there is no re-writing of files into a config.xml. If a new config.xml is imported then the other config.xml must be overwritten and is lost all together. Is there a way around this bug? I am eventually trying to toggle between config.xml and see if there is a way to keep a list of ImageTargets.
Any help is appreciated!

There's a known bug with importing new trackables into an existing project that contains a different set of trackables. See this thread:

You can fix the issue by editing the config.xml file by hand and removing any extraneous trackable entries (e.g. chips/stones from the samples). Understand that when you import your own files you lose access to the chips and stones targets included in the sample, so you'll want to remove those trackables from your scene.

Confirmed. We've got here the same problem today (out first attempt to generate own trackers). Our application is working fine using the standard image targets (stone and wood) from the unity extension.
But we cannot get it to work with the trackers generated via the webpage. And after installing the unitypackage (and not even using the new ones) the standard image targets (stone and wood) stopped working. The only temporary solution was to override the config.xml and qcar-resources.dat with the original ones and the application is running again. Unfortunately we have to use custom image targets and they don't work for us.
