Proper term for the trackable encoding method?

What is the proper term for the coding method of the image signature that's used by the tracker? Is this a type of hash coding?

There doesn't seem to be a consistent way of referring to NFT signature coding. I've asked the same question to reps from Metaio and TI. They've agreed that it's not an encoding in the conventional sense of a source conversion, but don't have any other term for it.
