Recognizing of real building

August 19, 2014 - 6:02am #1

I try to make an application to recognize real building. Type of my target image is single image and this image got 5-star rating in target manager (see attachment target_image.jpg). Afterwards, I printed out used target image. Recognition of building from this paper was working very well. But when i tried to recognize the building from other images (see attachment image1.jpg and image2.jpg) it was not working. And whats more, when i tried to recognize the real building itself, it was not working too (I stood in a position from the image was taken). Probably there is a problem with light conditions and angle. Any suggestions how to improve the recognition?. Should the target image photo been taken from another position or different angle?. Thx for any response.

Hello Josep Alemany,

Have you looked into our Model Targets feature at all? Depending on the geometry of the object you are wanting to detect, this may provide you a better solution than using an Image Target. You can read more about Model Targets here: https://library.vuforia.com/features/objects/model-targets.html

Recognizing of real building

Hi Maxa,

I have got the same problem. I wanna recognize a build in different hours of day, and different weathers. A Target image doesn't works well.

Object Recognize is only for small objects on indoor conditions.

Have you find a good solution for this problem?

Any help or suggestion is welcome! Thanks.

Josep Alemany

Vuforia will recognize images that you've uploaded into the Target Manager based on the point data determined from the image. In the Target Manager you can click the "Show Features" link to display the points. Although the pictures may be of the same building, their different angles and image contrast will yield different point data that Vuforia will interpret as different images.
