Source Image Resolution Effect On Stability

September 13, 2013 - 11:03am #1

We're looking into ways to keep our 3D objects stable once the tracking starts, and I was wondering if the source image resolution has any effect on that.  For example, would a 1000x1000 png produce more or less stable results than a 500x500, or would they be the same?

Potentially - can you PM me a link to your images so that I can evaluate them?

Hey there, thank you for the response.  I noticed on the enhancement tricks page that anti-aliasing occurs if the width isn't 320.  Would adjusting the size of my image to 320w help at all?

Those resolutions will provide the same performance. You might investigate using Local Contrast Enhancement on the target image - https://developer.vuforia.com/resources/dev-guide/image-target-enhancement-tricks , that's applied to the image submitted to the Target Manager, not the printed version.

Also pose stability tends to be best when the model is placed near the origin of the target.
