Using large tracking image for printing, but scaling down to comply with 2mb max file size

June 13, 2017 - 9:50am #1

If I want to have a tracking image that I can print large (32in x 40in), but also upload the same image to the target manager to create the tracking image, I will have to scale the image down and probably lower the quality of the jpg to get it to 2mb. Does this create problems with tracking? Seems like scaling the image down that much would cause features to be very small. So far I have tried it and the tracking seems ok, but maybe it could be better if there is some other technique I am missing.

Does anyone know why the 2mb file size limit? It is to save space on their servers?

Any input is appreciated.

Using large tracking image for printing, but scaling down to comply with 2mb max file size

Hello,

Scaling down the image so that it can be uploaded to the Target Manager will not affect tracking performance.

The max image size limit is historical based upon internal testing. We found that the tracking quality does not improve with file size beyond 2MB.

Thanks.
