Video Over Cylinder

Hi,

i'm working with new Cylinder features.

So i want to modify my videoplayback app for to work with Cylinder recognize.

I want to show video over bottle target.

I already build label, and app recognize it, but i have some problem with size of target for adjuste it for show video.

Seems to be a unity issue. But a support / workaround would be awesome. Since it works on PC and not mobile devices.

Hi! I just want to ask if you already solved your problem on this? If yes, can I ask for help on how did you integrate cylinder target on videoplayback? because I'll make like this too. scanning a bottle then a video will display..

If you look at the video playback code in EAGLView.mm you will see that size is controlled by this variable:

 

    videoData[playerIndex].targetPositiveDimensions = imageTarget.getSize();

..which means that it is related to the size of the Image Target.

So you need to check for instances of this and set this to the size that you want.

 

What I am not sure about is whether you intend to play on the texture over the curved surface (which should work) or whether you want to play this on a flat surface.  If it is the latter, then you may have xtra work to do to define the plane and use its Size() accordingly.

No, I already determine if target is normal or Cylinder, i would like if is Cylinder show videoplay over target without resize it, like videoplayback does, but put videoplay with fixed size.

So, are you basically trying to determine what type the target is?

i.e. normal Image Target or Cylinder?

Yes,

i know, because i already integrated cloud with videoplayback.

So my idea is to get videopalyback, and each time it start i download from my server new target data (xml and dat). So i have all object (Cylinder, Cube, etc).

When app recognize target, app donwload video from my server, and put it in local. 

If target is not cylinder app show video over target, but if this is cylinder, i would like to make a fixed video play over target, and not to resize it.

I already builde all. It remain only to make a fixed video player. 

How can i do this?

So, probably the next step is to integrate the cylinder app with the video playback app.  

This will not be an easy task, so be prepared to spend some time doing this.

  • What exactly is the problem?
  • Which platform?
  • Which device?
  • Native or Unity?
