What is the best device to use vuforia?
My need is for far distance. I think I need the best camera ?
Thank you for your help
Ok Thank you.
I'm trying with an iPad retina and I don't have good results. Even if my target is 1/4 of the screen. I try to use continus autofocus and mode optimize quality.
I'm using multi target (a cube with 34cm by face).
I want to try with an android tablett but i don't know which tablett to choose. I hope that I could obtain better results.
Hopefully some of the forum members will give you specific recommendations, based on their experience.
But you don't need a top of the line camera to achieve longer distances. Vuforia is downscaling and converting the camera image to greyscale. So you're probably not going to see a major difference in possible distances w/ a 12,14, or 16 megapixel over the conventional 8 MP cams on many smartphones. The quality of the optics, camera unit, and camera features are likely to be as, or more, influential.
One feature to look for is that the device camera supports continuous autofocus. This mode will cause the camera to re-focus automatically and it helpful for maintaining tracking when the camera a/o target are moving relative to each other.
You had mentioned in your other thread that your device doesn't have a good camera. Is it possible that your camera is out of focus? Does it look bad from the device's camera app as well, or just with Vuforia?
