I want a full resolution.
But my device does not support the full resolution.
I'd like to know the fundamental reason.
I've tested the device are as follows:
- Samsung galaxy tab 10.1
SHW-M380W
- Samsung galaxy tab 7.7
SHW-M180L
- Samsung galaxy S2
SHW-M250S
Only have full resolution on samsung galaxy S2.
samsung galaxy tab 10.1, samsung galaxy tab 7.7 How do I resolve?

What resolutions are you seeing? Have you tried setting the ARCamera for MODE_OPTIMIZE_QUALITY?
how to get more video resolution ...
I have the same question from Holland, how do I get maximum resolution?
I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Tab2 with on-board video resolution 1280x720.
I have tried all options with selectVideoMode(..),
Hi, the best you can achieve
Hi,
the best you can achieve is by using MODE_OPTIMIZE_QUALITY; I'm not aware of any hack/workaround to reach higher resolutions;
if that does not entirely fits your needs, I would encourage you to post your request in the wish-list section of the forum:

Hi, again, there is no specific solution to this; on certain devices the camera preview resolution is limited to 640 x 480.

I tried the VideoModes "MODE_OPTIMIZE_QUALITY" and "MODE_OPTIMIZE_SPEED". they gave the same result, even though cameradevice.getNumVideoModes returns 2.
is this a known bug?

It's not a bug. The camera MODE is a "hint", which on some devices results in a higher resolution (but not on all devices). See also my previous answer.
