Hello all!
I've been using Vuforia for a few years, and while I feel pretty confident deploying apps to iOS device, but just recently forayed into Android and UWP builds. My Android experiences were all easy, and I have managed to get the app running on a Microsoft Surface, but the performance is AWFUL. The camera works, and detects the tracker correctly, but it (the entirety of the app) lags by about a quarter of a second, which makes for an unpleasant delay that breaks the illusion of the AR. I know that the Surface I'm testing with has an i5 CPU, which has a higher clock speed and more cores than the apple A6 chip, which I have previously tested on, so I'm wondering what is causing it to run so poorly? Additionally, has anybody had luck getting a Vuforia app to run well on the Surface?
Thank you for your time!
Thanks for the reply! I am using Unity 2017.3.1f1, with Vuforia 7.0.47, on a Surface Book (the first generation). I have not tested any of the samples (it doesn't seem like they are imported with the Vuforia package anymore), but I can confirm that it runs slowly even in a simple scene with only one image target and a cube, and runs poorly in the Unity editor as well, using both from and back cameras.
