Vuforia support on Samsung Galaxy S10

April 18, 2019 - 2:49am #1

Hello,

I'm developing an AR Application for Android Phone.

I tested my app and it worked very well on Samsung Galaxy S9+ and Samsung Galaxy Note 9 but didn't work on Samsung Galaxy S10 only.

ARCore def supports Galaxy S10 (I read it in ARCore document) but not so sure about Vuforia engine.

Does Vuforia support Android Samsung Galaxy S10?

If not, when is Vuforia planning to support it?

My environment is

Vuforia Version : 8.0.10

Unity Version : Unity 2018.2.10f1

Thanks

Hello @minjichoi,

To clarify, you only want the player's view to move in 3DoF (roll, pitch, yaw) and not 6DoF?

Thanks,

Vuforia support on Samsung Galaxy S10

I think I should explain more about the issue that I am suffering from.

I wanted to use device tracking function in my mobile game application.

It's a FPS game.

I want to rotate the player's view(angel) to device.

The player's view has rotated well to Samsung S9+ and Note 9, but It didn't work well on Samsung S10 only.

The player's view on Samsung S10 was fixed.

I added 'Vuforia Behaviour' component to Main Camera and Camera's Clear Flags is 'Skybox'.

I checked 'Device Tracker' in VuforiaConfiguration.

Please go through this issue and let me know if there's any way that I can solve it.

Thank you.

Hello,

I was just able to run our 8.0.X Core samples on Galaxy S10, SM-G973U1. Image Targets, Model Targets and Ground Plane features all worked fine.

One thought is to make sure ARCore is installed on the device as it *is not* Vuforia VISLAM calibrated. The latter will cause Ground Plane to fail if ARCore is not installed.

Thanks,
