External camera support

Hello,

I would like to know if Vuforia suports a specific external camera connected via HDMI capture card such as RunCam or other cams used in RC drones. I see that external cameras are supported (https://library.vuforia.com/platform-support/external-camera) and needed a driver on its own to be written for it, right?

So my question is if its theoretically possible to connect and use any type of external camera if a driver is written for it.

Hey,

 

Yes! Though I do have to be honest to say that there could be a lot more. It's a feature that is not widely used since it's so use-case specific.

are the already any pre-written drivers for some cameras? I mean templates or something?

Hey Vojtech,

 

You're right. It is theoretically possible to connect any type of external camera with a created Vuforia driver.
