Alignment Issue

July 28, 2015 - 10:59pm #1

Hi,

I encountered some alignment issues with my Epson Moverio BT-200. E.g. when I use my moverio Bt-200 to scan for ImageTarget, i found that my 3D models do not appear at where they should align with on the ImageTarget. It would be off from the ImageTarget.

May i know how to solve this issue? Please advice how to align my 3D models together with my ImageTarget or how to resolve this problem? What is the main cause for this problem? The camera of the moverio BT-200 is located at the right side of the glasses?

Many Thanks

Sorry. 5) Is what we saw on the screen at Moverio BT-200. This is suppose to be the result? I mean is it possible to be transparent instead of the black background?

Hi,

I am using Unity. Yes I enable the stereo rendering in unity.

1) As attached screenshot (Vuforia.png) from the video attached from Vuforia5 at the HOME page of Vuforia. I can see that the object is aligned with ImageTaget. This is what we wanted to include in our created application using Vuforia5 on Epson Moverio BT-200.

2) When we enable stereo rendering set to true, and video rendering to false (At Unity, disable the Play Mode Render Video), what we can see is a black background with my augmented reality objects not properly aligned on the screen for Epson Moverio BT-200 even we done the calibration using the default calibration application.

3) When we enable stereo rendering set to true, and video rendering to true (At Unity, disable the Play Mode Render Video), what we can see is a video background with my augmented reality objects properly aligned on the screen for Epson Moverio BT-200.

4) But what we want is as attached from the Video at Vuforia5 Home page. Meaning to say is to have a opaque background instead of a black background when using Epson Moverio BT-200 and 3D object is to be aligned properly with the outline when the ImageTarget have a outline for the building. I realise that using a mobile application key, we are able to achieve that (As attached screenshot: FromMobile.jpeg).

5)What we want to see when using the Epson Moverio BT-200 is as attached screenshot on the moverio BT-200 glasses (app.jpg).

Pls advice.
Thanks

Are you using native or unity? Can you also double check stereo rendering is set to true when enabling the video background? Also since the stereo rendering sample app worked fine when there is no video background, your app also should work. Can you try replacing your 3D model with teapot? Thanks!

Hi,

I tried the calibration app and the stero rendering sample app. The stero rendering sample app seems ok. But if i will to use my own ImageTarget with my 3D model, the rendering appears off again.

I realise that it do make a difference when rendering the background image on the BT-200 seems ok in a sense that it align with the camera display in the background image but not in the real-world. The real-world and camera display becomes 2 separate images. But if will to disable the background image of the BT-200, the 3D model and the real world ImageTarget does off-align again.

Pls advice. Really appreciate.

Thanks

Can you try the Stereo rendering sample app after performing the calibration using the Calibration App? The Stereo rendering sample app is similar to Image Targets and it is for eyewear devices like BT-200.Thanks!

Hi,

I tried using the calibration app on the device., but it still seems off the image. I tried the sample app the multi-target with the flakes box. My flakes box after the calibration app still does not seems to get them to alight.

thanks
